Fashion: BU After Hours At Sean John Showroom NYC

Last week Wednesday during Creative Week in NYC BU was invited to partake in a fabulous event at the Sean John Showroom in NYC. A dope event filled with great people and an open bar filled with Ciroc! It was an invite only affair with some of the most creative and passionate people in NYC. Alongside BU a few other brands were spotlighted, all young Black people doing the damn thing! What an honor to be chosen and mingle with a crowd where everyone the same drive. Here are a few pics, for more about the event and pics head to The X-Stylez

BU Special thanks: Passport ProjectMarcus Graham Project and The Marcus Graham Project for hosting the event.

Occupy Wall Street, What Now?

Written by: Sherifa Gayle (@dopERifa)

I believe this movement is a great idea… but, that’s what it is an idea. The movement needs a mission, too many objectives are floating around aimlessly. Awareness is beautiful but if there isn’t any action after-wards it will fade away like water puddles. We all have been conditioned to deal with what we have so it’s nothing new now. Capitalism has been installed into our way of life and the belief is “you get what you work for”. The rich run the world and until they become poor they won’t truly care to stoop down and spread their coins, or listen to our demands… simple. This is just the facts of life. To truly get the ball moving we must take OTHER steps! Small businesses… I believe should be the next platform, stop putting money into these big corporations…. that will be a major move in the right direction if we “the working class” want the wealth to be distributed. Begin shopping at local shops/mom and pops  and putting YOUR money into your OWN people’s pockets. If this is done on a regular basis this will in turn cause a turmoil and the money will begin to trickle down. With that said, Christmas is close by. This is my opinion, what’s your’s?
